The EDCTP Knowledge Hub Data Management Portal is a structured online resource designed to ensure that data management is fully considered and planned throughout the life of a research project, with particular relevance to clinical studies in sub‑Saharan Africa and other low‑resource settings.

Scope and Content:

• Step‑by‑step guidance on developing a Data Management Plan (DMP), including the key areas to address at the planning stage.
• Practical guidance on data management systems, and on how to organise and structure study data.
• Best practices covering data capture, data entry, data processing, data monitoring, and preparation of data for analysis, sharing and archiving, including “prepare to share” steps embedded throughout the portal. A linked “Resources” section offering an extensive, searchable and filterable library of guides, short videos and learning materials on data management topics.

Useful for investigator‑initiated clinical studies to:

• Develop a comprehensive, structured DMP from the earliest stages of study planning.
• Apply best‑practice data management principles across the full study lifecycle, from capture to archiving.
• Access curated training materials and reference resources aligned with EDCTP‑funded and similar global health research contexts.
